Activities
The following is a partial list of things we do. If no contact
information is given, then either enrollment is currently closed or you
must be a member of the group to participate.
The Things We Do
- Email List:
- This is where most announcements are made. New plans and
any changes to plans are announced here so it is important to join this
list. You will be invited to join the list when you ask to
join the group.
- Tea Time email list:
- This is our "just for fun" email list. There are no off topics, and we can and do discuss anything! This is the spot for rants, for selling non-homeschool items, or just to muse on the latest thing to cross your brain. To join, email Karen.
- Park Days:
- Once a week on Fridays. See the
Park Days page for more information.
- Small groups:
- We now have small groups based on location. There are groups
in Denton County, Grapevine, Hurst/Euless/Bedford, Keller, North Richland Hills, Roanoke and Wise County. To join,
simply ask on the main list. Also we are looking for people willing to
step forward to lead additional small groups in other areas.
- Casa Mañana:
- We get together each month to attend children's plays at Casa
Mañana.
- Mom's Night Out:
- This is a night for the
moms to get together and visit, encourage one another, and help each other
problem-solve. Plans are announced on the email list.
- Field Trips:
- Any member can plan a field trip whenever they want. We
are currently looking for a field trip co-ordinator. If you are
interested, just let Karen
know.
- Teen Night and Pre-Teen Night:
- Pre-teen activities are for 10–12 yr olds and Teen activities are for 12 yr olds
and up. Parents should use their own discretion when deciding with which
group their 12 yr old belongs. Contact
Karen for more information
about Teen Night activities or
Shannon for more
information about Pre-Teen Night.
- PE:
- Our 2005–2006 AGAPE Homeschool Fitness program is offering
several classes. See the PE page for more information.
- Starbrite Outreach:
- We meet in Hurst several times a year for projects supporting the
military and military families. Email starbritefamilies@yahoo.com for more information.
- And More!
- Other activities that come and go depending on what
individual members are willing to organize: Chess Club, Craft Club, Bible
Studies, Jump rope club, Lego League, Drama class, Family Fun Night,
Scrapbooking nights, Genre Book Club, Reading incentive programs, etc. The list is only
limited by your imagination!
If your questions aren't answered on these pages about our group's
activities or homeschooling in general contact
Karen.
